Terms and Conditions

These additional terms and conditions (the “Additional Terms and Conditions”) apply between each registered participant (“Participant” or “you”) in the GoSec2024 event (“Event”) and GoSecure Inc. (“GoSecure” or “we”) as organizer of the Event.
By registering for the Event, you agree to be bound by these Additional Terms.
If you do not agree to be bound by these Additional Terms, you may not participate in the Event and GoSecure reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to refuse or cancel your registration.

1. Modifications or cancellation of the Event.
GoSecure reserves the right, at any time and for any reason whatsoever, to cancel the Event or modify the date, time, duration, format or any other aspect of the Event (including, without limitation, speakers, exhibitors, content and program), at its sole discretion and without liability to the Participant.
GoSecure will notify the Participant of any such change or cancellation as soon as reasonably possible.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, GoSecure shall not be liable for any loss, delay, damage or other liability incurred as a result of or in connection with such modification or cancellation of the Event, however caused.

2. Refusal to register.
GoSecure may refuse the registration or presence of a Participant at the Event at its sole discretion, including (without limitation) in the event of non-compliance with the Additional Terms or if GoSecure is of the opinion that the presence of the Participant would represent a risk to the safety or proper conduct of the Event. GoSecure cannot be held responsible for any damage, direct or indirect, resulting from such refusal.

3. Material distributed or provided in connection with the Event.
All rights, including intellectual property rights, in any material or content provided or disseminated by GoSecure or the Event’s sponsors, exhibitors and speakers in any form (collectively, the “Material and Content”) shall remain their respective property, as the case may be.
Unless otherwise specified in writing, the Material and Content are provided for information purposes only and may only be used for purposes related to the Event.
The use, reproduction, distribution, transmission, recording or publication of the Material and Content for commercial purposes or for any purpose not authorized in these Additional Terms is expressly prohibited.
With the exception of GoSecure’s Material and Content, we have no obligation to supervise, control or moderate the Material and Content of Event sponsors, exhibitors and speakers, and GoSecure shall not be liable for any harm or damage caused or alleged to be caused in connection with your use of the Material and Content.
Without limiting the foregoing, the Materials and Content made available to Participants are provided “as is” and without warranty of any kind, express, implied or statutory.

4. Photos and recordings of the Event.
By participating in the Event, you consent to GoSecure (or its authorized representatives) making certain photographs or audio or video recordings of the Event in which you may appear (collectively the “Recordings”).
You grant GoSecure and its authorized representatives the unlimited, irrevocable and perpetual right to use, distribute, reproduce and exploit the Recordings for any purpose, on any media and throughout the world, and you waive any compensation in this regard.
You agree that GoSecure remains the sole owner of the copyright in the Recordings, and you release GoSecure from any and all claims and causes of action you may have against GoSecure in connection with the use and distribution of such Recordings, including for invasion of privacy, defamation, copyright infringement or other personal or intellectual property rights.

5. Privacy and personal data protection.
By registering for or participating in the Event, you agree that the collection and use of your personal data by GoSecure is subject to its Privacy Policy available at Privacy Notice – GoSecure.
GoSecure collects some of your personal data when you register for the Event, such as your name, e-mail address and position within your organization.
This data is collected for purposes related to the Event (e.g. to find out who is attending the Event and to communicate with you for purposes related to the Event) and to assess the professional needs and areas of interest of the individuals and companies attending.
You also authorize us to transmit your personal data to our subcontractors and service providers engaged in connection with the holding of the Event, but only to the extent necessary for them to perform their obligations or to enable you to benefit from the services offered in connection with the Event.
Except as expressly specified above or as set forth in our Privacy Policy, your personal data will not be sold, exchanged or shared with third parties (including sponsors, exhibitors, speakers or other Event Participants) without your prior written consent.
If you choose to voluntarily provide your personal data to third parties during the Event, you acknowledge that GoSecure has no control over the ways and purposes for which they will use your personal data, and you release GoSecure from any liability in this regard.
We recommend that you consult the privacy policy of these third parties before submitting your personal data to them.

6. Warranty exclusions.
GoSecure makes no representations or warranties with respect to the Event or the benefits or advantages you may derive therefrom.

7. Indemnity undertaking.
You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless GoSecure and its officers, directors, agents, employees, successors and assigns from and against any and all third party claims, damages, costs, injuries and losses arising out of your actions, negligence or omissions in connection with the Event or arising out of your failure to comply with these Additional Terms.

8. Limitation of liability.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you expressly agree and acknowledge that GoSecure shall not be liable to you, and waive any and all rights to claim damages or compensation from GoSecure, for any third party claim, injury or loss suffered in connection with the Event, including any indirect, consequential, incidental, punitive or exemplary damages as well as any loss of revenue, anticipated profits, opportunities or goodwill, regardless of the cause or legal basis for the claim.

9. Applicable law.
These Additional Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Quebec.
